Confirm feasibility and the work to be done
The partner review helps establish what can be assessed, sampled or produced. Design, engineering, tooling and specialist testing need a defined scope and suitable providers; they are included only when agreed for the project.
- Define proposed outputs, responsible parties, fees and review milestones.
- Record assumptions and technical questions that need evidence or further assessment.
- Agree confidentiality, file access, revision scope and tooling ownership where relevant.
Review samples against one reference
A sample is useful when the team knows what it is testing. Compare each version against the agreed specification and intended use. Depending on scope, a working record can include dated photographs, measurements, revision notes and questions for the responsible partner.
- Separate approved details, requested changes and unresolved issues.
- Arrange physical checks or specialist testing where required and agreed.
- Approve, request another revision or hold; confirm extra cost and timing before further work.
Carry approval into production
Identify the approved sample and specification in writing. Confirm quantity, packaging, the inspection plan and who can approve later changes. We can coordinate the handoff and production follow-up within the agreed scope; the manufacturing partner performs production.
- Record the version and any permitted differences from the reviewed sample.
- Keep changes visible so a new material or process is not silently treated as approved.
- Confirm how unresolved issues affect the production decision and next milestone.
Prepare a useful development brief
Send the product or concept, intended use, estimated quantity and your email. Add the destination, target date and available references. Say which outcome you need next: feasibility discussion, a revised drawing, a prototype or a production sample. Mention confidential files and physical samples so access and delivery arrangements can be agreed first.
